Each week following an artist's post, reflection questions and research ideas will get posted. These are aimed towards college level courses (senior seminar, composition, dance education, and more), but of course anyone can read the postscript and find thought-provoking questions and activities.
Reflect: Annie Rosenthal Parr's Artist Profile
What were 1-3 ideas that stuck out for you from this artist profile? If you spoke with Annie, what further questions would you ask her?
Research: Website Design and Content
In this digital age, it is important for dancers to look at lots of examples of dance-related websites. Spend 5-10 minutes on Annie's website, www.rocodance.com. Consider her layout, categories, color choices, and use of photographs.
Research: Companies and Choreographers
In Annie's profile, she mentioned a list of influences. If you are not familiar with some of the names, spend some time on the internet looking up each name. Look for company websites and check out Wikipedia and Youtube.

Discuss: Learning about Business and Teaching
Annie worked incredibly hard to learn how to start, create, and maintain a business, as well as about how to teach. Consider your current skills set and experience you have from your college courses, internships, workshops, and job experience. If you are interested in working as an arts administrator or starting your own studio or company, consider what skills you may need. What opportunities are available to you at your college? If you are out of college, what local organizations or community colleges offer classes for adults? Could you set up an internship or series of informational interviews with people in the field?
