Postscript: Further Discussion, Reflection, and Research Related to Natalie Desch’s Artist Profile

Each week following an artist's post, reflection questions and research ideas will get posted. These are aimed towards college level courses (senior seminar, composition, dance education, and more), but of course anyone can read the postscript and find thought-provoking questions and activities.

Discuss: Natalie's Advice for Young Dancers

Near the end of her blog post, Natalie gave some final thoughts for aspiring dancers:

Try for honesty in yourself above all else. Focus on your work and be committed to it, but always try to sink back into your own skin and be yourself. Then let everything else fall into place.

With a partner, discuss these words of wisdom and how you relate to them at this point in your dance life.

Reflect: Sink Your Teeth Into….

Natalie discussed one project she really could "sink her teeth into." In your own dance life, what is one piece that you really could immerse yourself in, commit to, challenge yourself? What elements really captivated you – the choreographic process, the choreographer, fellow dancers, performance opportunity, subject matter?
