Becoming an Arts Administrator: City Guides as Resources and Research

Wordcloud

This summer on Life as a Modern Dancer, artists and arts administrators around the United States have written guides for their communities:

I have discovered that these guides can now be really useful for arts administrators around the country. I suggest spending 30-60 minutes browsing these guides. Find out what is going on in other cities and how that information can inform and inspire your own community. Consider training, auditioning, and artist in residence programs in other communities. As arts administrators, looking and learning from other communities is time well spent. And, most organizations would happily respond to an email or phone call from a fellow arts administrator to answer questions and share suggestions.
