Average age range of M.F.A. students: We do not track this kind of information. We have had students in our MFA program as young as 22, and as worldly as 40/50-something. 

Average length of time to complete the M.F.A.: 3 years

The MFA degree is designed for students and continuing artists who will not only pursue professional choreographic careers, but who will redefine what these are for future generations. Students in our program are encouraged to develop a critical understanding of their cultural and historical location through an investigation of theories of culture and performance in relationship to their creative work. Consequently, choreography students become versatile in choreographic theorization and active participants in discourses of performance and of the body. We strongly encourage inter-cultural and multi-disciplinary interests as well as artists who may wish to move dance off the proscenium stage.
