  • Applications due - December 1, 2015
  • Auditions - Friday/Saturday, January 21-22, 2016
  • MFA visit/interview and audition on Friday-Saturday, January 22-23, 2016
  • PhD interviews and visit day on Thursday-Friday, January 21-22, 2016

Average age range of the MFA students: 23 – 50

Average length of time it takes to complete the program: The MFA Program is 3 years. PhDs range from 5-7 years.

OSU Dance integrates physical practice, creative process and theoretical inquiry. Our graduate students are working scholars and artists. Returning professionals in our MFA program expand and develop their current and/or new areas of specialization while our PhD candidates deepen their critical analysis and theoretical studies from chosen coursework of a clearly defined research area.

Areas of study include: Movement Practice & Improvisation, Choreography & Performance, Movement Analysis & Criticism, Filmmaking & Design, Interdisciplinary Collaboration, Intermedia & Technology, History, Theory, Literature and Writing. Graduate associate positions and fellowships are awarded. The program is NASD accredited.
