We are a graduate program in arts administration designed for busy people who want to learn from the best people working in the field. Our MAAA’s low-residency format provides students with the flexibility to live and work anywhere in or outside the US.
While in school, most of our students are working in the arts, arts administration, arts education, or arts service – and are able to immediately use their new learning.
The MAAA has a faculty to student ratio of 2/1. The annual on-campus residency each summer for students and faculty provides a unique learning opportunity as well as the development of lasting relationships.
An exceptional characteristic of our MAAA program is that all faculty members are practitioners – working experts in their field. For example, the faculty member who teaches Grantsmanship works in a foundation funding the arts, and the faculty member who teaches Arts and the Law works in the legal department at the Smithsonian. This provides students with access to wide networks of experts and mentors.
The MAAA is focused on core competencies that develop strong leadership skills while at the same time encouraging flexibility, adaptation, and access through new courses such as Entrepreneurship and New Ventures, and International Arts Policies.
Scholarships are also available within the MAAA program.
