We are now accepting submissions to the 3rd Annual Dance Shorts: College Film Festival. This festival provides an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to share their short dance films in a national venue. Dance Shorts: College Film Festival spotlights short dance films that are between two and six minutes in length. These dance films can be narrative, experimental, or abstract and incorporate any combination of music, lights, costumes, and location with dance and today's film technology.
We would like to inform about some changes we have made in this year’s festival. First, we are thrilled to announce, this year’s festival gala will be hosted at Arizona State University. Working together to produce the 3rd annual Dance Film: College Film Festival, both the University of South Florida and Arizona State University are dedicated to providing college level students with the greatest opportunity for national exposure of their short films. In an effort to make the festival available to a larger student population, this year our submission fees have changed significantly. Students who submit their films prior to the early bird submission deadline (February 15, 2016) will only pay a $5 entry fee, and students who submit after the early bird submission deadline will only pay a $10 entry fee. Furthermore, this year the festival is expanding, as this will be the first time we will be accepting films from international college students. We ask for you to please share all this exciting news with your student body and encourage them to submit their short dance films to the 3rd annual Dance Film: College Film Festival.
All films are viewed and adjudicated by invited professionals within the dance and film community. The highest scoring pieces will be showcased at a film gala. Out of these top pieces awards will be given to the best films.
