I'm writing to reflect on these past two weeks of community, art, and creativity. At this year's Salt Dance Fest, I was able to connect with people I've known for years and people I have just met on physical, intellectual and problem-solving levels. I have seen myself and others transformed in the way we approach movement and expression. The changes have been striking and immediate. In only two short and exhausting weeks I have found myself validated as a dancer, as a creator and as a thinker. I have discovered new ways of articulating myself as a choreographer and instructor. All too often, as an instructor, I forget to listen to my own advice, and being in this environment has forced me to go back to really learning. It has forced me to take the time to reconnect with the love of movement and other people. There was no agenda, except to love to dance. That is what we did and that is what we have all been inspired to continue to do.

Thanks to Jill Randall for facilitating this discussion for the past two weeks! Now – onwards, forwards, backwards, sideways and upwards!
