Alphabet Cards for Creative Movement – Created by Alexandra Langstaff

Are you teaching preschool and kindergarten creative dance classes this school year? Looking for some new activities?

Alexandra Langstaff created a playful set of cards with the alphabet as her springboard. B is for balloon…..h is for hopscotch….n is for numbers.

You could easily select one or two cards each week to bring new activities into your class. Each card offers a prompt and several ways to invite the students to move, improvise, vary ideas, and expand into further activities. Here is an example for the letter H:

Hopscotch Hills

Hopscotch is like jumping and hopping over hills. Show me small and big jumps and hops.

  • Can you make up different patterns? How about jump, jump, hop, hop, jump, jump?
  • Can we hold hands and hopscotch together facing each other or side by side?
  • Can we hopscotch in place or move across the room?

Purchase the cards online for $22 – a great investment in fresh ideas and springboards for the coming months.
