From August 2014 through August 2015, every day I took a few minutes to write down a dance-related word or phrase from the day. These words emerged from rehearsals, taking class, teaching, graduate school, choreographing, and other projects.

The daily practice was a beautiful thing. I highly encourage that you try it as well – even for just a week or a month. I love the play on words. I love the intersection of movement and language within my dance practice. Revisiting these words two years later, I experience the words again as a touchpoint, starting off point, and seed for reflection.

Again, in 2017, I will share the lists of words once a month, to hopefully inspire other artists and students throughout the year.
