For College Level Technique Courses: A Free Downloadable Journal

From Blog Director Jill Randall:

A year and a half ago, I designed a journal for undergraduate and graduate level technique courses. Writing and reflecting are valuable components of training. This free, downloadable journal can be formally used within a college course or personally printed out by a college student to explore on their own. Print it at home or color copy it at your college's print shop like a "reader" for a course. (See the two versions below.)

A special thank you goes out to dance professors around the country who reviewed and edited this journal, including:

I have loved hearing from professors and students throughout the U.S. over the past 1.5 years about the use of the journal and its help deepening the learning within technique courses. One freshman at Webster University wrote to me and shared:

I was actually surprised by how helpful this journal was in my intellectual and physical development as a modern dancer. The questions felt like a very natural progression throughout the journal and definitely aided me in figuring out areas that I excelled in and areas that I need to focus on more. Overall, your journal was well-put together and gave me some guidelines on which I could build my reflections of the class and my progress throughout it.

Here's to a great fall semester ahead!
