From Blog Director Jill Randall:
Lately, I have been thinking about dance writing and dance publicity. How do we share/invite/entice/preview a work for our potential audience members? Salt Lake City-based artist Molly Heller and I are playing with this idea for the 7 days leading up to her show, very vary, at Shawl-Anderson Dance Center in Berkeley on December 2nd and 3rd. Big questions driving the work:
Molly recently shared,
The piece looks at the way we include (or exclude) ourselves in our individual worlds, how we arrive at moments when our childhood expectations/fantasies don't align with our current state (and how we grapple with that tension), how being in conversation with all sides of our emotional selves is a way of recognizing our potential, and how sometimes we have to escape (or go out) to come back in.
