Movement Poem #35 (to arrive)

To arrive

to arrive

a movement poem for April 18, 2020 by Jill Randall

to softly land

in the moment presented

knees bent

soft ankles

receptive

fluid body

to feel it

to sense it

to say "yes"

and "now"

and "I am in it"

presence

plus

forward motion

what I dreamed of

schemed of

asked for

and now…

It's now.

Knowing,

Feeling,

Embracing,

Arriving.

Hello!

Today's poem is dedicated to my dear friend Valerie Gutwirth. Thank you for your years of friendship, dreaming, scheming, collegiality, and dancing together.

The musical offering is = "the interim" on an album by Michael Wall and Jordan Chiolis. It is #1 on this playlist.

Today's poem leads to a movement exploration. No pressure for a full composition and movement phrase! Turn on the music and play with: a receptive, fluid body; sensing your body in this very moment in the day; and "arriving." What does arriving mean to you?

This is the dance for today!
