From Blog Director Jill Randall:
It's been another long month in shelter-in-place. I hope that you and your family are safe and healthy.
My heart is so heavy processing all of the recent racial injustices in our country. Thank you to Dance/NYC for this open letter, which helps articulate many feelings I have right now as a white arts administrator. There is so much to say and to do. Lots of personal work reading, reflecting, and talking with my family right now. I welcome your ideas and feedback about equity and inclusion for this website and how we can use this platform for dialogue, support, and change.

In May, five artists wrote Shelter-in-Place Dance Dictionaries:
On May 5th, I finished the Movement Poem project, publishing a total of 52 poems, to use as springboards for improvising and choreographing. Check them all out here.
I also was happy to get back into the Artist Profiles on the site with Liv Schaffer's post. Stay tuned this week for new profiles from Mark Travis Rivera, Joan Lazarus, and Raissa Simpson. 169 artists have been highlighted over the past 7 years.
And, heading into some new territory for writing and reflection, check out the writing of Sima Belmar about an online performance during shelter-in-place: Redefining Solo.
