From Blog Director Jill Randall:

Thank you for being a part of this project – as readers, writers, post sharers, and enthusiasts for modern dance in 2015.

Now in our 4th year with the project, 2015 was a year of huge growth in terms of content and readership. As new ideas and needs percolate, I strive to share, question, and offer. A huge thank you goes out to Debra Knapp, for her feedback on the project and her encouragement to go deeper.

As you can see in the column to the right, there are many categories on the blog to read and research. Interested in dancers in their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s? Click on "40-100 Stories." Considering moving to another community? Click on "City Guides." Looking at graduate programs, both full-time and low-residency? Click on "Masters Programs."

The blog offers first-person artist stories and many resources for artists as you become teaching artists, administrators, and founders of companies.

More ideas are developing right now for the launch of the new year. Stay tuned to learn about the new features. This year will wrap up with 120 artist profiles on the site. As we head into 2016, we get to hear from Reggie Wilson, Keith A. Thompson, Banning Bouldin, and Elizabeth McPherson, to name a few.

So, how can you support the project? It takes only 5 minutes. Share the link with a friend. Post something on Facebook. "Like" the page on Facebook. Invite your colleagues to "like" the page on Facebook. Use the blog within a college course. Post the link on your Resources Page on your website. Together, we can keep supporting, discussing, and reflecting on a life in dance.

And to every artist who wrote for the site this year – nearly 50 artists – THANK YOU. Thank you for your time, honesty, and sharing. Thank you for being a part of an open conversation for current and future artists.

Here's to 2016, and vibrant dancing and dancemaking!

Sincerely,

Jill Randall
